| The story of Jesus when He healed the man with the withered hand while in public at the synagogue on the Sabbath. The pharasees who were present were trying to entrap Him felt it unlawful if He violated the traditions of the Sabbath. In reality, it was them who were *between a rock and a hard spot* so to speak. It is interesting to note that when Jesus healed the man, the Pharisees were absolutely -enraged- that He would do it, no matter how good of a thing He did. Eventually it was this kind of self-centered thinking by the pharisees that brought about their desire to end his life. This lesson is rich with the *story behind the stories* - that is, details and the lessons and customs of the day, which is typical of Norms lessons. You will not get just the basic story, but all the details of daily life around the story to make sure it makes sense. Be sure to hear it. |
